How to Solve Your Sleep Problem

If you have difficulty in sleeping during night, it is time to find out how to solve your sleep problems. Sleep problems have become very common nowadays and around 80% of American population seems to be suffering from one or the other manifestations of it. Occasionally, people may be having two different sleep problems at the same time!!!

Fibromyalgia is a sleep disorder that is related with extreme fatigue, body ache, especially of the joints. People suffering from Fibromyalgia often have unbearable pain in the joints, tendons and ligaments. This pain can also lead to the development of multiple tender points in the body. The pain may grow to such an extent that it becomes difficult to catch a good night sleep. Sleep problems associated with Fibromyalgia, make it more vulnerable.

People with Fibromyalgia are often confused to have arthritis and rheumatoid but this is not always true. Polysomnography and other such tests may bring forth the actual reason for this sleep problem. This is more common in women than in men. Though this can be treated with self help techniques and leading an active lifestyle combined with exercise, it can still be a matter of serious concern.

Another sleep problem is nightmares and night terrors in people which can also be accompanied by sleepwalking, sleep eating and bedwetting. Before discussing the relations between the above stated sleep problems, it is important to understand that nightmares and night terrors are two different conditions. Nightmares are normally bad dreams or instances that people recall during sleep cycle whereas night terrors may be the terrifying incidents or trauma that makes them difficult to sleep.

Children having nightmares can often get up in a terrified and inconsolable state and can often have bedwetting episodes. In such cases, the parents must be very careful in handling the child as scolding and shouting can result in the severity of the problem. Talking to children, being understanding and loving can help boost the child's moral and solve the sleep problems.

There are two more commonly known sleep problems that affect our work and performance equally. They are Sleep Apnea and Insomnia. In cases of insomnia, a person would find it difficult to sleep for longer time durations at a stretch. Thus people suffering from insomnia will have sleep in breaks and will find it difficult to sleep, once woken up. Sleep apnea on the other hand is related to yet another sleep problem and that is snoring. In cases of snoring, the person emits sounds while sleeping which is very disturbing if one has a sleep partner.

Sleep problems have become a part of our lives. There would be hardly a person who wouldn't have experienced sleep problems. At times the reasons can be as simple as anxiety or stress whereas in other cases it can lead to other severe sleep problems. If problem persists for more than a week and no relief is obtained after following all the suggested sleep rituals, then one must consider seeing a doctor.
